Pokemon Hunt @ the Library
To keep abreast with the "Pokemon Go" craze, we had a Library Pokemon Hunt. This activity was done so patrons will be acquainted with the different sections of the library.
"Make a Mark and See where It Takes You!"
The theme of the story "The Dot" for International Dot Day , was for students to take risks by starting to make a mark. Our 4th and 5th Grade Reading Club members heeded this challenge by painting their own designs on their shirts.
Power Up the Library Thru Technology
Creating Poetry
As a way to enrich the Reading curriculum for the first six weeks which focuses on poetry, students created poems using the App "Lark". When using this app, students chose particular images or drawings and built their poem with the words provided.
International Dot Day
The students learned how to make their drawings turn into Augmented Reality by using an app called: QUIVER. Students had so much fun seeing their painted dots become into 3D.
Mackin Via
MackinVia is a one stop portal for instructional resources, e books and more . This is available to every library patron may they be students, staff and parents. Teachers can use this resource to enrich and support their lessons. Students can use this for research, projects and reading ebooks. Parents as well can help their children use MackinVia to help their children with their school projects or develop literacy through the ebooks provided.
Ask your librarian if you need help with usernames and passwords.
