St. Columba's Primary School
NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 7 | 17 MARCH 2022

Creator God, be near to me.
When I’m uncertain, offer me comfort.
When I’m afraid, give me courage.
I give you thanks for all of the good things in my life.
I ask for help with the things that aren’t so good.
I pray for my community in the midst of this pandemic,
that everyone would stay safe and healthy.
Be with our leaders, and help them to make good decisions.
Thank you for your love. Amen.
From the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for all support and cooperation this week, I have very much appreciated your kind words at Kiss & Drive. Our staff continue to work hard to provide continuity of learning for those learning remotely. Our thoughts are with those who are unwell.
I will include a weekly update in the newsletter on the status of Covid-19 protocols and classes in quarantine. As at today, 2W, 2G and PPG are in quarantine. When a class is impacted, I will communicate directly with those families on the day of notification of a Covid positive case.
Today is St Patrick's Day and some of the children have dressed up. Tomorrow is the Feast of St Joseph and we will celebrate with a whole school online liturgy, led by our Year 6 students. Icy-poles will be provided to all students after lunch to celebrate this important Feast Day.
Please remember that bookings for the online Parent-Teacher Interviews close tomorrow at 3pm.
God Bless and keep safe.

It is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background. Students are encouraged to wear cultural dress or orange clothing to promote this significant occasion. Classes will participate in Harmony Day activities.
Edu-Dance student performances and costumes
The Edu-dance Concert will take place on Wednesday 6 April for all PP – Year 6 classes (Week 10). Parents are not able to attend this year so all class performances will be filmed and made available to parents.
Students are asked to bring the below Edu-dance costumes with them to school on Wednesday 6 April. Students will change into their costumes prior to their performance and then change back into their school uniform following the dance. Students are also welcome to bring their costume to their Week 9 Edu-dance lesson to participate in a dress rehearsal. Please ensure students wear their joggers/sports shoes, with hair to be tied up unless otherwise stated.

Parent Teacher Interviews - bookings close this Fri 3pm
Parent-Teacher Interviews will take place in Weeks 8 & 9 this term. Interviews will be 10 minutes in duration and take place over the phone. The online booking system is now open - please login and book a time.
Project Compassion 2022
Project Compassion has launched for 2022.
Students have looked at the work Caritas Australia has done throughout the world and the positive impact it has had on many lives. All students in PP-Y6 have been provided with a Project Compassion box and we ask that you generously donate this Lent.
The theme for this year is For Future Generations.
Check out the below real-world story of Project Compassion in action, highlighting how our generosity can assist others.
