A Note from Mrs. Wilson

Hello CCS Families!

We have had a lot of fun things going on here at CCS over the last two weeks. Our school celebrated the first 100 days of school, we started a new writing program in K-5, and our students are learning and growing in and out of the classroom.

We hope to see many of you at this year’s annual Chichester School District meeting will be held on Saturday, March 5th at 9am. The community will vote on both items in a traditional town hall meeting format. Attendance is required in order for residents to vote. The final day to register is Saturday, February 26th at 10:00am at the town hall. Voter registration is not available the day of the meeting. Community members can register to vote at the town hall during the following times if you are not already registered:

Monday 8:30am - 4:00pm

Tuesday 8:30am - 2:00pm and 4:00pm - 7:00pm

Wednesday 8:30am - 2:00pm

Thursday 8:30am - 2:00pm

Saturday, February 26th - 10:00am

Childcare will be provided by teachers during the School District Meeting.

Our school community looks forward to all that the spring has to offer for our students, staff, and community!

Mrs. Jessica Wilson, Principal

100th Day of School Celebrations!

On Friday, February 11th, we celebrated the 100th Day of School here at CCS! The PTO treated all students and staff to treats after lunch. Ms. Martucci's class even dressed up to look like they were 100 years old! In Mrs. White's class, they made cup towers with 100 cups and graphed and counted by 10.

Handwriting Without Tears

Last month, during our staff professional development day, teachers in grades K-5 received training in Handwriting without Tears®️. This is research based, developmental handwriting program, which will give us the tools we need to align our handwriting instruction across grade levels. It begins in kindergarten focusing on pencil grip and proper formation of letters and numbers and moves into cursive writing in grades 3-5.
