* Finding Evidence
* Comparing and Contrasting
* Speaking and Listening
* Higher-Level Thinking
* Reading Skills
Students have worked on review of nouns, verbs, and adjectives using the word ornament this past week and worked on spelling by unscrambling words.
Students will be reading about holidays traditions around the world. They will be answering who, what, where, why, and how questions and finding textual evidence to support their answers. They will compare another country’s celebration with the traditional celebration in the United States using a Venn Diagram and present their research to the class.
Students will be finding main ideas and supporting details activities-- “Have you ever wondered?” These activities focus on how these traditions came to be. Students will then present their findings to their peers.
Students will read and use their higher-level thinking skills to solve a logic puzzle.
Students will participate in a Reader’s Theatre.
