McKay High School Weekly Newsletter

Week of April 10 -- 14

Message from the Admin Team

We are entering the stage of the year where we graduation is around the corner. Less than 50(contact days) days remain before we celebrate the class of 2023. Although this is almost two calendar months away, be sure that your students are doing what is possible to achieve success. Counselors have been busy the past few weeks forecasting for the upcoming school year, if you have questions, please ask your student about the classes they have selected. As you will see in this week's newsletter McKay has a variety of options for students to select. This upcoming week we will be having another round of Scots Activities, this shows up as Period 10 on your student's schedule, if you are receiving notification that your student has missed this class, please contact the main office for clarity. The end of the year is approaching fast, let's all do what we can to finish strong.

Shout Outs (Academics, Athletics, Activities)

The pictures below were taken this past weekend at the 24 Math Challenge Tournament. 4th and 5th graders come to McKay from around the district to compete. Students and adults in yellow shirts are the people who make this event possible each year. This event has been a tradition at McKay High School for many years. We have McKay alum who return to help host the event AND bring their 4th or 5th graders to compete! #thisismckay

Over the past few weeks McKay High School and some of it's programs have been featured on KOIN 6 news. We are extremely proud of these programs and the opportunity that they provide everyday for our students. Mr. Feskens, Mr. Hosler, and Mr. Figueroa are great examples of the quality of person that we have leading in our classrooms. Follow the three links below to watch the full story(s).
