Back to School Information 2022-2023
Greetings Cougar Families,
Our first major event will be Cougar Camp. This is an opportunity for incoming 7th graders and 8th graders who are new to Dobie to tour the campus, learn about our clubs, get to know one another and review their course selections. Parents are also welcome to attend as we will have some informational session that review frequently asked questions. If you are not able to attend Cougar Camp, don't stress :) we will send another newsletter containing some of the information that was shared.
Dobie Administrators, Counselors, Teachers and Staff are excited about the 2022-2023 school year.
Welcome to Cougar Country,

Welcome to the Dobie Counseling Department! We are looking forward to working with you and your student during their middle school career! As your school counselors, we have a lot of great things planned for families and students. We are here to help your student gain success in middle school and beyond!
Please welcome our two new Counselors: Ruby Bible and Jessica Stackhouse.
Our Counseling team consists of 3 professional school counselors. We see students by Alpha: A-Gl, Go-O, and P-Z. We also have a Communities in School Social Worker and a Military Student Transition Consultant.
School counselors take on many different roles within a school. Our duties include classroom guidance lessons, small group and individual counseling, as well as consultation with parents, teachers, and administrators. While counselors do not discipline students, we can assist with positive behavior strategies. Our goal is for each student to develop socially, emotionally, and academically, and we strive to create a safe and positive environment in which each child can accomplish this.
