Mesopotamia is located between the Euphrates and the Tigris river. Mesopotamia means land between the rivers. Mesopotamia had hot and dry climate. In Hammurabi's court it did not matter the way you were if you broke a law you would be punished. The law was written down.

gods created some one stronger and faster than Gilgamesh. His name was Enkidu. He went roaring into the city of Uruk.Gilgamesh and Enkidu battled for a while but neither could beat each other. So they both left.

Early settlers began to build cities amount the banks of the Euphrates and the Tigrus rivers. Irrigation water is allowed to sit on fields and evaporate it leaves behind mineral salt. When it gets to the upper levels of the soil it becomes poisonous against the plants.People ate two meals a day besides the rich. They made vegetables stews. Fish was an important source of protein. Cakes for special occasions were made. They lived close to the water because the Fertile Crescent where the soil is good. Water levels in the river gets to low. Later people built canals to protect houses from flooding. With irrigation the people of Mesopotamia were able to grow more food. Food surplus allowed some people to stop farming and work on other work. Mesopotamia enjoyed many foods.

The garden on Bbayon was built in about 600 BC. The garden of Babylon was on the east bank of the Euphrates river, about 50kms of south Baghdad,Iraq. In ancient Mesopotamia it was important to write things down if you didn't know how to write you would hire someone. If you did not know how to read or write or sign a contract you would sign with a cylinder seal. The ancient Sumerians stared to use a wedge shaped symbols for objects and ideas called cuneiform. Ziggurats, with steps claiming up to the top.
