Meet Ms. Ninfa Carter

Hello, My name is Ninfa Carter pronounced ( Neen-fah). I was born under the sun of an Aries on April 8, 1979 in Houston, TX. I am the eldest of three daughters. I have two beautiful sisters, Navodka and Norrelle.
I am an avid reader and writer and have a B.A. in Professional Writing from Grand Canyon University. I have been helping educate young scholars for nearly 23 years. I have worked in several school districts around the Houston area and have worked, at various times, in Pre-K, first and second grades, and have co-taught SPED courses. In 2019 I became a Harmonian, where I have worn many hats. As of today, I am a proud first grade teacher.
When I'm not teaching, I am spending time challenging my sisters to any word game or chasing around my fur-family members, Romeo and Isabella, or I can be found sipping a couple of Folgers coffee while watching my favorite game show, Wheel of Fortune.
I truly enjoy being an educator and helping my students. I look forward to the next twenty years and the day when my current students return with their high school and college diplomas and tell me that they, too, want to be educators.

Hi HSE Family!!! Welcome to February, I hope everyone had a pleasant and productive January. During the month of February, not only will we be celebrating Valentine's Day and Black History, we will also be celebrating National School Counseling Week February 6th- February 10th. National School Counseling Week is intended to help focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems. The 2023 theme is School Counselors: Helping Students Dream Big. It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the school counselor here at HSE. Many of my students I've known and taught since kindergarten, watching them grow into their own has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. Thank you HSE staff, students, and parents for your trust and support.... You make my job that much more fun and exciting!!! I look forward to celebrating with you!

The contest is open to elementary, middle school, high school, and adults. You must enter your art by Friday, March 10, 2023.

- The parent excuse note should state the following:
1.) Full student name

Message from our Admin
Hello HSE Family,
For morning drop off, we're requiring all parents to stay in their car and follow morning drop off either in the front of the school or the North arrival area.
Please do not park in the campus area to walk your students. Parents are supposed to stay in their cars and drive to the drop-off areas so that students can get out of the cars.
For the safety of our students and yours, please do not park on Brook River Drive and walk your child across Gessner Road. Gessner Road is a very busy road with a set speed limit of 40 MPH. Also, DO NOT STOP AND DROP YOUR CHILD OFF GESSNER ROAD! Thank you for understanding!
We will keep the first U-Turn open when you come from Gessner Rd (It was closed today but it will not be closed again). Please do not use the second U-Turn and please do not cut in line.
We will have a police officer several days a week to reinforce these issues.
Have a good day!
NO STUDENT DROP-OFF IS ALLOWED BEFORE 7:00AM!
