FAQs
Jennifer Schiffman, DigiDiva Dialogs
For all student presentations I respectfully request that a school counselor or SRO be available the day of the presentation to assist students in the event of a disclosure or concern. As a mandated reporter I will work with staff to file hotlines and Cybertips when necessary.
What are your qualifications?
I had the great honor of serving as a civilian member of the MO Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (MO ICAC) for eight years. I spent five of those years as their prevention specialist, speaking to nearly 90,000 youth and their parents throughout the state. While I was a member of the task force I had the opportunity to train alongside law enforcement which led me to a very unique perspective on digital safety.
What areas do you cover?
I generally cover MO, southern IL, AK and KS. I occasionally travel outside the region. Please contact me for details. Is there a cost for presentations?
Yes. Please contact me for pricing. I provide services on a sliding scale to ensure that smaller schools have the same opportunity as larger districts, and so that larger districts get volume pricing.
What AV equipment is needed?
A laptop, projector, screen or smartboard and Internet access. I can pull down a presentation in five minutes and get started! For larger crowds a microphone would be appreciated. I will need Internet access and a computer running Chrome (browser).
Can we schedule multiple presentations in one day?
Yes. In fact, to reduce travel costs I prefer to schedule students, parents and staff in the same day. Student groups should be no larger than 400. I prefer to work with your entire district in the same time frame to ensure that students, educators and parents are getting the same information at the same time - even if that means I have to stay in the area for multiple days.
Will there be time for questions?
Yes. For student presentations I am generally in the area all day for follow-up, and I am always available by phone. For adult presentations I allow 30 additional minutes for questions.
What about the Lifeline feature?
The Lifeline feature is available free for any district that books a full day session (elementary, middle and high school). It's designed for schools that either don't have a School Resource Officer (SRO) available to them or have a high volume of chronic, intense cyberbullying that does not rise to the level of a law enforcement investigation. Any administrator or counselor at the school can reach me for 30 days after a presentation for help in resolving those issues.
