Ridgeview STEM Junior High School
October 30, 2020
From the Principal
As the school year progresses, we have started seeing more students who are not properly wearing their masks in the hallways or at their desks. Please remind your student that masks are to be worn at all times in the building, except when eating or drinking. They need to have their mask covering their mouth and nose. We are seeing a lot of students not having it over their nose (I have helped several students adjust their nose piece so that it fits better). Every staff member has been given masks for the students, so if theirs breaks or gets soiled during the day, they just need to ask and we will give them a replacement.
If you need to check your student out for an appointment, please call ahead so that we can have your student ready to go when you arrive. (See specific directions on checking students out later in newsletter-you will need your phone and ID).
Along those lines, students are not allowed to have their cell phones on during the day. Per board policy, phones are to be off and away during the school day in grade K-8 (we remind them of this every morning on the announcements). If you need to get ahold of your student, please call the office and we can get a message to them.
Remember to double check with your student that they are checking in for attendance on their virtual days and to check the Classroom Information Page (linked at the bottom of this newsletter) so that you know what they have coming up. There is also still time to schedule Parent/teacher conferences for November 3rd (see links below).
Beginning the week of November 1st, the Food Service Department is changing the sign up deadline for cohort and virtual food bags. The deadline will now be every Monday by 10am.
An important reminder: Please sign up weekly as this helps control food waste and monitor inventory levels.

Cohort B-Virtual Days Order Form
- The Food Service Department is sending out negative balance letters to parents and guardians. Most of these balances are carryover balances from last year. We encourage you to pay off the balances as soon as possible. If your child wishes to purchase any extra items that are not included in the free meals they will need to have money on their account. A safe and easy way to add money to your account is by using mypaymentsplus.com.
New Tech Support Hours
Technology Support Hours are changing! Starting in the month of October, the Technology Department will be adjusting their support hours to better serve students in both Cohorts as well as our Virtual Learners. Beginning on October 5th, we will follow the below schedule each week for the month of October:
Mondays – 1:30pm to 3:30pm
Wednesdays – 9:00am to 11:00am
Fridays – 1:30pm to 3:30pm
We will still be at our District Office location and please continue to sign up for service using the below link. This helps us know how many folks we will need to prepare for.
Please see the short video below on how to Update Chrome OS
Please Check Your Student's Attendance on Virtual Days
We believe the majority of log in issues with Infinite Campus have now been resolved. Students must log into Infinite Campus for their attendance and Google Classroom daily. They can login to Infinite Campus once and do their attendance for the entire day so they do not need to login multiple times. If your student is unsure of how to post his/or attendance on virtual days, please watch this "how to" video: Virtual Attendance Video.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
