ZOOM RULES REMINDERS
Dear Gregory Parents/Guardians,
We need your help! As we move further into the school year, it is really important that we try to mimic the classroom environment as best as we can to ensure all students have an environment that is conducive to learning. Please read below to learn how you can help us.
Students should be:
- Dressed appropriately for school. No pajamas please. As we have in the past, we will have special days designated for pajama day.
- Sitting in an appropriate workspace where they can sit comfortably at a table with all accompanying instructional materials. i.e. workbook, notebook, pencil, whiteboard, marker
- Raising their hand to ask their teacher to go to the bathroom. This helps keep order in the classroom, so that the teacher(s) know(s) where their student is going when they walk away from the screen.
- Turning their camera and microphone off when on breaks or leaving the classroom.
Students should NOT be:
- Eating breakfast in school at 9:00 am, when homeroom begins.
- Eating food outside of their designated snack time.
- Laying in their bed or laying down at all.
- Bringing siblings to school with them or having them on their lap.
- Bringing toys to school and playing with them in class.
Parent Reminders
- Parents should refrain from actively listening or viewing their child's livestream, so that a more familiar classroom environment can be cultivated by the teacher.
- Parents who feel as though they need to be close by to support their child's learning experience are asked to remain out of the camera view, so that their presence does not cause any distractions.
- Parents who have questions for the teacher are asked to send the teacher a message on Class Dojo or an email. Please do not ask questions, while the class is in session or with other students present.
RELATED ARTS FAQS
Question: Is there a master schedule for all related arts classes?
Answer: Please see the button below "Related Arts Master Schedule".
Question: When will all asynchronous related arts assignments, including library, be posted in my child's Google Classroom?
Answer: All asynchronous lessons/assignments will be posted on Mondays, so that your child has the week to complete them.
Question: What happens when there is a day off from school and my child misses live instruction with one or more of their related arts teachers?
Answer: There are two options.
OPTION: #1: Your child can join one of the other live classes in their grade level for that week. Please click the Zoom link in your child's Google Classroom to join the live class.
OPTION #2: All lessons are recorded. On a week where we have a day(s) off from school, the related arts teacher will post one of the videos of the recorded lesson that your child missed from another class and add it to their asynchronous lesson. This will allow your child the opportunity to view the live lesson and complete the asynchronous assignment utilizing the information learned from the recorded live lesson. Typically, every related arts asynchronous lesson should take 30 minutes or less for a student to complete it. If there is a recorded live lesson accompanying the asynchronous assignment, it will take the student longer to complete it. Therefore, please fell free to break the assignment up into two time frames or over the course of two days.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PTA PRESIDENT, MRS. SKYE MONAHAN:
Gregory Elementary families!
We’re only 2 weeks away from our Eagle Dance Fit Fundraiser! Our goal is to raise $20,000 for our school needs.
Here are a few things to know about this important fundraiser:
All families can support our school by either donating or sharing on https://funrun.boosterthon.com/v3 . Students can receive rewards when parents share from https://funrun.boosterthon.com/v3.
All students get to participate in the Dance Fit day, regardless of financial participation.
This fundraiser comes with an incredible character development program for students where they’ll be learning about the importance of teamwork, care, courage, grit and celebration.
With all students learning at home, parents will be receiving daily information and video links so students can participate in the fundraising and character development program. We are working hard to make this fundraiser safe, fun, and successful for everyone!
Key dates to remember:
Registration Opened - 9/29
Fundraiser Kick Off - 10/13
