Important Changes for Parents Who Drop-Off and Pick-Up Their Child(ren) From School...
We are asking for your cooperation with some changes for morning drop-off and after school pick-up....
IN THE MORNING, your child should be dropped off at the designated student drop-off/pick-up area on the side street off Matthews Street, east of the school. Your child will join the rest of the students for recess and will enter the school through the back door for breakfast or when the morning bell rings. If you choose not to use the designated area, please park in the parking lot and walk your child across to the sidewalk, where they will go around to the back of the school. Please do not use the circle driveway, which is a designated Bus Zone.
AFTER SCHOOL, parents who do not use the designated student drop-off/pick-up area will wait outside of the school, under the shelter, to meet their child when they are dismissed.
The school doors will remain locked throughout the entire day, including before and after school. Adults entering the building at any time will be required to sign in at the office and wear a visitor badge.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to make student safety a top priority.
Mr. Ball
My name is Eric Ball and I was born and raised in Merrill, WI. While growing up here I was involved in baseball, soccer, track, wrestling, football, and Boy Scouts. I graduated Merrill High School in 2013 and UW-Eau Claire this spring. In my freshman year of college, I was a part of the UW-Eau Claire track team as a pole-vaulter. For the remainder of my education, I was involved in intramural sports such as volleyball, flag football, and ultimate Frisbee. I worked as a Healthy Living and Learning Programmer for the residence halls as well as a Lifeguard and Open Recreation staff member for the recreation department. I spend my summers as a Summer Playground Leader through Merrill’s Parks and Rec program.
I am 23 years old and I enjoy spending time with friends and family, being physically active (running, swimming, weight lifting, etc.) and especially reading (Harry Potter and The Hardy Boys). I am also a large fan of the TV shows Grey’s Anatomy and The Office among others.

JAG CLUB NEWS
This year, Jefferson Elementary will once again be offering fantastic after school learning opportunities for our students! We focus on strengthening academic achievement and social growth by offering unique learning opportunities in a safe and nurturing environment. We receive funding through a 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant that allows us to provide these beneficial programs for our students and their families!
Our first official event is our FAMILY NIGHT KICK-OFF on Monday, September 17. Please join us for a fun family time at the apple orchard to kick-off the Jefferson JAG CLUB program! Meet our amazing JAG CLUB staff and learn more about what Session 1 has to offer. Session 1 begins September 24 and registration forms will be going home next week.
Meet us at Helene’s Apple Orchard and stay as long as you’d like, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. In addition to the fun activities, each Jefferson Student will bring home a bag of delicious apples! This event is free of charge for Jefferson families.
Flu Clinic
The best way to stay healthy during the flu season is to get your annual flu shot. Everyone older than 6 months needs one. This school year, Lincoln County Health Department (LCHD) will be holding FREE vaccination clinics for all students in Lincoln County.
