Trojan Update

October 2nd, 2017

A Special Saturday Night Lights

Perhaps the best moment of Saturday's night SCL matchup between Petaluma and Sonoma was not the 42 first half points the Trojans put on the board. Or the stout defense that gave up just six points and limited the Dragons throughout. Or the final score of 56-6 which moved the Trojans to 5-1 on the season.

Instead, it was the postgame gathering of the two teams at the center circle to pay tribute to Carson Pforsich, the Analy wide receiver who suffered a freak back injury last week. With the help of the cheer teams, the two teams sent their best wishes and thoughts to Carson and family as he struggles to rehabilitate. It was great to see the whole group unified to support Carson. If you are interested in donating to the family, you can do so at any Exchange Bank into the "Carson Pforsich Rehab Fund."

For the Trojans, they now look ahead to an away match up at Piner before hosting Healdsburg at Casa on Oct 13th.

CAASPP/Smarter Balanced County Test Results

Below is a link to test results from state testing last spring. Though we don't believe one test in April really demonstrates what our students can do, we are nevertheless very proud to see them performing so well. The article shows how our elementary and secondary district performed. In an upcoming update, we will send out some more comparison scores. You should know though that your children performed very well and made PHS proud!

Please Don't Drop Off Students at Museum Gate

Because of the field construction, we have opened the gate off Hinman by the museum to allow for pedestrian students who normally would enter the school via Ellison Field to have an access point to school. This is so these students do not have to walk all the way around to Fair Street or all the way around to the gym entrance. However, it was intended to be a drop off point by vehicle. Hinman has a blind corner and vehicles that are stopped to discharge a passenger may be at risk. PLEASE proceed to Fair Street or at the rear of the school for drop off. Any questions, please email
