'TIS THE SEASON

Dear CoSA Families,

We hope to see you at one event (or two) throughout the month. Have a wonderful winter break. Happy Holidays!

Artfully,

Tiffany Bouchard, CoSA Director

Liz Josset, CoSA Office Assistant

Beth Connelly, CoSA Foundation Executive Administrator

REQUEST FOR IPADS

Is someone in your family receiving the gift of a new iPad? Perhaps you could consider donating your old iPad to CoSA for use in our Box Office and Concessions area? We have a couple which were donated a few years ago, but they aren’t able to run the applications we need. Thanks for considering donating to CoSA!

AMAZON SMILE

Will you be using Amazon for some of your holiday shopping? If you log in through Amazon Smile and select CoSA Foundation we will receive 0.05% of your purchase. That may not seem like much, but if enough of us designate CoSA, then all those little amounts will really add up to a nice contribution to CoSA!!

STUDENT-PARENT HANDBOOKS

Parents: If you have not already done so, please click on your student's conservatory below to view the student-parent handbook and complete this Acknowledgment Form. The student-parent handbooks can also be found on the CoSA website (cosasandiego.com) under "Students."

CoSA STUDENT HEADSHOTS

Purchase a digital copy of your student’s professional headshot. Great for college applications, auditions, and a wide variety of uses! Professional headshots can cost up to thousands of dollars – your student’s headshot is available thanks to the generosity of CoSA Parent and Professional Photographer, Jenece Hamby, for a $50 donation to the CoSA Foundation.

CoSA FOUNDATION PARENT FUND UPDATE

Dear CoSA Families,

Congratulations on being part of the Nationally Recognized, Award-Winning Coronado School of the Arts.

CoSA relies on contributions from EVERY family to ensure that every CoSA student receives the very best, pre-professional level education in the Arts.

Did you know that although CoSA is a school-within-a-school on the campus of Coronado High School, Coronado Unified School District ONLY supports 1 hour out of the 3 hours daily of arts education? The annual $2,000 per student request is a tax-deductible contribution that breaks down to roughly $1.49 per hour for the school year. The value and return on your contribution is more than tenfold!!

WHY Contribute?

  • CoSA relies on parent donations and the community to support 2 hours daily of instruction for our children. WITHOUT THESE CONTRIBUTIONS COSA CANNOT SURVIVE!
  • YOUR donation funds teachers' salaries, office support, and materials & supplies.

HOW to Contribute:

  1. DIRECT: Visit the CoSA Foundation website: cosafoundation.org
    1. YOU can make a one-time donation of $2,000, or set up convenient monthly contributions via credit card or check. Click on the Purple button.
  1. WORKPLACE: You can reach out to your company and ask if they will sponsor your child, or if they will match your donation.
  2. NETWORK: You can send an email blast to family and friends, providing them the link (cosafoundation.org) and your child’s name and conservatory.
  3. FUNDRAISE: You can fundraise on behalf of your child and their conservatory.

WHERE your funds go:

We are all in this together and believe every child should have access to San Diego County’s Elite Choice for Arts Education. Call Beth Connelly, our CoSA Foundation Executive Administrator, at 619-522-6202 to discuss creative ways to contribute.

Thank You for Your Support!

The Coronado School of the Arts Conservatory of Classical and Contemporary Dance presents Collision, a performance event in collaboration with CoSA’s Conservatory of Visual Art. The concert is the culmination of a series of exchanges between student dancers and student artists. Artists experienced the challenge and thrill of capturing the human body in movement, and dancers experienced the challenge and joy of responding to drawings through improvisation and dancemaking. In Collision, dance and visual art share the stage. Join us for an art exhibit in our theater lobby and an evening of original dances that celebrates the notion that the human body is itself a work of art.

The CoSA Dance conservatory under the direction of Gina Sorensen has gained a reputation for outstanding, creative productions. Sorensen's winning formula is to combine carefully coached student pieces with professional choreography.

Join us for an inspiring evening of creative movement and artistry.
