Class Dues


Pay your entire $45.00 in class dues by Tuesday, October 1st, to be entered into a drawing for your choice of one of the following:

$25.00 Marathon Gift Card

$25.00 Amazon Gift Card

$25.00 Fast Food Gift Card

** One winner will be chosen from each class.

** The entire $45 fee must be paid in full to be entered in the drawing. Those who have paid partial payments must pay the remaining balance to be entered. If you have already paid your $45 in dues, you will be automatically entered in the drawing.

** Class dues cover many different school activities during your students’ 4 years of high school, such as homecoming activities, senior picnic, colored senior yearbook photos, flowers for graduation, etc.

(Dues must be paid for student to go on senior trip.)

Equestrian Team

Our high school equestrian team will be competing in the MIHA Equestrian meet, September 6th - 8th. It begins daily at 8am and ends around 9pm. Good luck huskies!

Staff Highlights

Maurice Goka - Technology Department

Tom Lockwood has nominated Maurice Goka as our Staff Recognition Highlight this week.

Maurice Goka is the Mobile Device Configuration and Repair Specialist at Hemlock Public School District. He works approximately 20 hours a week during the school year and 40 hours a week during the summer. He is a full-time student at SVSU.

Melissa Jaremba - Secretary

Keith Green has nominated and would like to welcome HS Secretary Melissa Jaremba as our HS Staff Recognition Highlight.

“Melissa’s positive and can do attitude will be a great addition to Hemlock Schools,” shared Keith Green Hemlock High School Principal.

Melissa spends most of her free time with her family Jason and Emma. She enjoys the outdoors and loves to travel the state of Michigan.

Melissa states,” My family has been part of the Hemlock community for the past 6 years. I am excited for this opportunity to become part of the school system and work with all of our students.”

Matt Bauer - Teacher & Coach

Frank Yell has nominated Boys Basketball Varsity Coach Matt Bauer for our first Athletic Staff Recognition Highlight. Coach Bauer has coached for 19 years and has taught at Hemlock for 23 years. He enjoys spending time with his family, wife Mary, son Drew and daughter Haylee.

Coach Bauer’s passion for coaching boys’ basketball shines throughout the year. In the summer months, Coach Bauer enjoys leading the S.K.I.L.L.S (Spirit, Knowledge, Intensity, Love, Leadership, and Sacrifice) basketball camps within the surrounding communities.

“Matt Bauer is a great coach, teacher, and mentor to Hemlock kids. We are very fortunate to have him and we look forward to many great seasons to come,” stated Athletic Director Frank Yell.

Coach Bauer shared, “We have had a lot of talent walking the halls of Hemlock High School and looking forward to the future students coming up. I am excited about our upcoming season. We have a strong group of kids and coupled with the superb girl’s season Hemlock Basketball is growing and Coach Neumeyer and I are excited about the future. One of the best things about our current program is we have a group of genuinely nice kids and parents.”

8/19/19 - V Soccer vs. Laingsburg - W (3-0) Dakota Ross scored the first Huskie goal of the season with the assist coming from Gabe Tallon 28 minutes into the game. Five minutes later Ethan Vietti made it 2-0 with a Nolan Finkbeiner assist. Nolan connected with Ethan again in the second half scoring the third and final goal. Andrew Knoll finished the game with 6 saves and with his defense completed the shutout.

8/21/19 - JV Soccer @ Freeland - L (1-6)

8/21/19 - V Soccer @ Freeland - W (2-0) Although the defense was decimated with injury, they played together only allowing 12 shots on goal. Andrew Knoll made all 12 saves and completed the shutout for the Huskies. Nolan Finkbeiner scored first on an overlapping run assisted by Ethan Vietti with just over 5 minutes left in the first half. Just 2 minutes into the second Half Ethan Vietti added a goal of his own when he broke through the defensive line and received a perfect pass from Nolan Finkbeiner.

8/20/19 - V Tennis vs. BC Western - T (4-4) Winners were Max Haufee, Garret Reimer, Gabe Bannerman, Zachary Krueger, Owen Nurnberg & Joe Renas.

8/22/19 - V Tennis @ Heritage Invite - 7th place; Max Hauffe won his first two matches but lost in the third (10-0, 10-8 & 6-10) Doubles partners Ben Lockwood & Carl Spannagel won their first match but lost the second (10-8 & 0-10).

8/24/19 - V Volleyball @ Swan Valley Invite - Varsity Volleyball had a great start to their season taking second place out of 12 teams at the Swan Valley Invite on Saturday. The Huskies took first place in their pool and continued to play great through bracket play falling short only to Kingsley in the championship match. Sydney Peake had 35 Kills and 4 aces, Courtney Boehler had 24 Kills, Kylee Ryder had 23 kills and Brittney Young had 22 Kills and 3 aces. Kendra Salo had 129 assists and 6 aces and Cassidy Peake had 23 digs and 6 aces.

8/23/19 - V Soccer @ Bay City Central - The Team played to a convincing 5-0 win over Bay City Central. Gabe Tallen led the offense scoring the first wo goals of the game with assists coming from Caden Giacoletti and Ethan Vietti. Mitch Hingston Nick Lafrance, and Caden Giacoletti also added goals with Ethan Vietti contributing a second assist and Gabe Tallon and Nolan Finkbeiner adding assists of their own. Andrew Knoll and the Defense played to their third consecutive shutout with Knoll having 6 saves on the day.

8/26/19 - V Soccer vs. Calvary Baptist - The boys dropped a tough wet and windy game to Calvary Baptist by a score of 1-3. Caden Giacoltti had the lone goal for the Huskies with the assist coming from Ethan Vietti. Andrew knoll was fantastic in goal having 15 saves for the game.

8/26/19 - JV Soccer @ Bay City Central - W (3-0) Goals by Adam Beyersdorf (assisted by Grant Ferguson), Colton Marino (assist by Andrew Prebay) and Sander Reidsma (assist by Colton).

8/24/19 - JV Soccer @ Heritage Tourn. - L vs. Midland High (0-2), W vs. Haslett (4-2), L vs. Hartland (0-4)
