IF you are a Rising Junior (Class of 2025) and you would like to take the PSAT/NMSQT on October 4, 2023 at OVHS during the school day, please kindly complete the google form attached below to record your interest. You can change your mind up until 8/15/23.
SAT - Tips and Links
Steps for a successful SAT experience:
Create a College Board Account
You'll need a College Board account to view your SAT scores when they're ready. You can also search for colleges and build a college list. If you don’t have an account yet, create one at collegeboard.org/mysat.
*When creating a College Board account, students should use a personal email address, not their .golynx gmail, as this is a site they may need to access after graduation.
Set a Target Score
Once you set a goal score and know how it matches up with the schools you want to apply to (even if they’re test optional), you can practice and prep with focus. And, if you took the PSAT/NMSQT®, you can use that score as a benchmark. Learn more.
Decide Where to Send Your Scores
On or before test day, you can choose which colleges and/or scholarship programs to send your four free score reports to. Be ready with your list. Learn more.
Sign Up for Free Practice on Khan Academy
Official SAT Practice on Khan Academy® is free and the best way to prepare. Sign up at satpractice.org for your personalized study plan.
Students get to choose how to use their scores (or not), and it makes the SAT risk-free. There are no penalties for taking it, just rewards for using it.

PFEW
PFEW is a statewide summer program open to current sophomores and juniors in high school. At PFEW, participants learn about business, life and themselves. Students live on a college campus as they compete for prizes and the title of top company! Throughout this adventure, students will meet and work with some of Pennsylvania's top executives. They will also make amazing new friendships as they work with 15-18 other sophomores or juniors from all across Pennsylvania. Students will learn the value of teamwork and how to recognize talent in themselves and others, and learn skills that will serve them a lifetime. They will listen to some of the nation’s best speakers who come to impart powerful messages that will leave them breathless and inspired to achieve greatness. They’ll also learn about various career opportunities right in our hometown and throughout Pennsylvania.
This educational summer program is offered over several one-week sessions held in Williamsport, PA during July and August. Spaces are still available for several sessions and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Financial aid and payment plans are also available.
If you have questions about PFEW, do not hesitate to reach out to their offices at amber@pfew.org or 814-833-9576 ext 6. Students can sign up directly on their website at www.pfew.org/student-application.
