STAFF SPOTLIGHT
Bill Cryderman is our staff member in the spotlight. Mr. Cryderman has worked for Columbia School District since 1985 . He is the music teacher for all 800+ students at CES and CUES. He teaches 8 classes every single day! His favorite restaurant is the Outback Steakhouse, his favorite candy is peanut butter M&Ms and his favorite musical is "The Music Man." He is currently getting the 2nd graders at CES ready to perform "The Holly Jolly Pirates of Pinatavile" on Wed. Dec. 12th at 6:00 p.m. He enjoys playing music at his church and is a most excellent trumpet player. We are grateful to Mr. Cryderman for his love of music and dedication to helping our students love music, too!

K-KIDS NEWS
K-Kids Canned Food Drive - we are helping to collect food for the Brooklyn Food Pantry. Please bring in any food item to help those in need. This organization also accepts monetary donations, which they use to choose food items out of a catalog at a discounted price.
Terrific Kids - we are looking for adult volunteers who are willing to be a mentor by writing encouraging notes, leaving a little gift of encouragement, dropping off a small treat for a student's lunch...or whatever you feel would give your assigned student a boost. This type of mentoring is flexible and does not require face-to-face meetings. Please let us know if you are an adult willing to be a "Terrific Kids" mentor.

Marine's 0311 based in Hawaii received their gift. They said thank you!
Jacob Gross and his unit based in Georgia are grateful for their gift.
COUNSELOR'S CORNER
Would you like to mentor a student but don’t have time to come to school during the day? In January, we are starting a program called “TERRIFIC KIDS.” You would be partnered with a child who would benefit from your support. You can write them notes of encouragement and deliver them to our office or mail them, give your student little gifts from time to time, leave them a treat for their lunch, etc. If you are interested in being a mentor for TERRIFIC KIDS, please email Ashley.Phelps@myeagles.org or call 517-592-6632.
If you believe your child would benefit from having a mentor from this program, please email Mrs. Phelps @Ashley.Phelps@myeagles.org
