Our Holiday Concert is Monday, December 4th at 7 pm in the DHS Auditorium. All Color Guard students are also performing at this concert. All band students will need to stay after school for rehearsal from 4:45-5:45 the day of the concert. We are feeding all band and color guard students before the concert.

We will be wearing dress pants and school appropriate tacky holiday sweaters. Students who do not wish to wear a tacky holiday sweater may wear business casual attire – dress pants and a collared shirt or a dress that covers the shoulders and goes past the knee when sitting down. No open toed shoes.

Playoff games are required for all band and color guard students who do not have a conflict. Please communicate any conflicts with the playoff game by Monday evening so we can order the correct amount of food.

Students need to bring these items with them to school on Friday.

• 5:00 pm - Arrive at stadium and eat dinner (provided)
• 6:40 pm - Pre-game ceremonies
• 7:00 pm - Game starts
• 1:15 am - Parent Pickup @ DHS

Congratulation to all the students who earned a chair in the ATSSB Region 12 Bands. We had 12 more students make the band than last year for a total of 50 students making the bands. Woohoo!

The Region Band Clinic and Concert is Monday, December 11th at Davenport HS. Students will wear concert uniforms - tuxes/dresses. Students will be out of class all day. More info will be in next weekend's newsletter.

Also, Davenport HS will host an Area Workshop on Thursday, December 28th from 9 am to 3 pm. We will use the morning to practice, and we will be having a mock audition in the afternoon. This masterclass is open to anyone that advanced to Area in the ATSSB All-State Audition process. Please bring $25 to cover the cost of pizza and the clinicians. The marching band is being recognized for qualifying for the UIL State contest.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, in the Boardroom of the Support Services Building, 1404 IH 35 North, New Braunfels, TX 78130. Please arrive by 5:45 p.m. to check in with us.

Additionally, we will be taking photos of participants after each recognition. Please stay for the photo, which will be used on our website and social media.

Be sure to complete the RSVP form by Monday, Dec. 11, and let us know that you will join us on Thursday, Dec. 14.

Some info about the trip:

• The trip dates are April 26-28, 2024.
• We will be taking charter busses roundtrip to South Padre Island.
• The price for a Quad room is $617 inclusive. That means four people stay in one room. All students will be in quad rooms.
• Chaperones will sign up for double or single occupancy. The price for a Double room is $751 and a Single room is $1,019.
• A $100 deposit is due upon registration.
• Prices may change depending on the number of travelers that register. This did not happen on our last two trips, but it is a possibility.
• Only current band and color guard students may register for the trip.
• Students must be academically eligible to attend this trip.
