THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK...

Saw this on twitter this week. Thought it was such a true statement.

Being an educator is tough. Don't choose to be around people who make it tougher. #teachergoals

THINGS TO KNOW...

*Get some rest! You deserve it after the LONG 4 day week!

*SITE BASED team (used to be called CORE team) will meet on Monday after school in the conference room. An agenda will be sent to them on Friday.

* REPORT CARDS - Will go home on Tuesday in Tuesday folders. If you have EL students, remember to MAKE A COPY of the EL report card, send the copy home, file the original in your files for safe keeping as you will need it every nine weeks.

* NINE WEEK AWARDS - If you have not completed your nine week awards google doc, please take time to complete that. We would like to start delivery next week.

* RED RIBBON WEEK - is next week. See below for theme for each day.

* BOOSTERTHON KICK-OFF will be Friday morning. We will do PK, 2nd and 4th at 8:30 with K, 1st and 3rd at 9:30. This will be in the cafeteria.

* SOCIAL DUES JEANS WEEK -

* CANNED FOOD DRIVE will kick off on Friday, October 25. Please encourage students to donate at least one canned good to the cause.

TEAM HUDDLES

I've enjoyed those who have met me for Team Huddles this week. Lots of great discussion and positive things happening at ORE. Just a reminder that this is an optional activity for everyone but it provides an opportunity for me to hear directly from you on a regular basis and for me to get to spend a few uninterrupted minutes with you. So...I'll be in your area of the building at 7:25. I'll stay there until 7:35 in hopes of getting to visit with you! We will have 3 standing questions...

1. Something good that has happened this school year

2. Something you struggle with this week or this year

3. One suggestion you have to improve our school

Schedule:

Third - October 21 - near Missy/Rachel's rooms

Fourth - October 22 - entrance to fourth grade

I'VE VOTED CHALLENGE

Early voting opens on Monday, October 21. We are going to have an "I've voted and so have my friends" challenge. There is a hundreds chart hanging on the door in the lounge. Once you have voted, bring your sticker and place it on the chart. When your family and friends vote, get their sticker and bring it. Once we get to 100 "I've voted" stickers (be honest, don't grab a handful, that's cheating) we will have free jeans days from the day we complete the chart until

December 1.

SUGGESTION BOX

Okay, it was mentioned to me that the link no longer worked. I've updated it so if you try it and it doesn't go to the "Suggestion Box," please let me know. Just a reminder that suggestions can be made anonymously if you don't want your identify known. If you have suggestions and/or concerns throughout the year, this is one place you will have to let administration know.
