A Message from the Principal
Graduation
What a wonderful graduation for both our Kindergarten and 8th grade classes! We were able to hold this in person in our new modern worship center – with parents, grandparents, and extended family members only. The Kindergarten children sang beautifully – songs about Jesus, each came up with their parents to share what they want to be when they grow up, and lots of photos were taken. The 8th grade class shared Scripture, prayer, speeches from our valedictorian and salutatorian, awards were given out for female and male Christian Character Athlete Award, Mrs. Linda McCasland from Mrs. Mac’s Shining Stars shared a message of hope, faith, and expectation as they leave Zion. A Citizenship Award (the highest award at our school) was given out, and our pastors led us in the invocation and benediction. It was a memorable, blessed send-off for 23 students whom we have grown to cherish!
Chapel
The last day included a closing chapel, again, in our new modern worship center. Pastor Davenport led us in the message and our band played some great songs. Citizenship Awards were given out for K – 8 students, and then 7th/8th grade students were inducted into the Lutheran Junior Honor Association. We took one more opportunity to take an all-8th grade photo as well.
Summer
Summer is here! It will still be a busy place at Zion, as Camp begins on the 7th of June. We will continue to lead tours and prepare for a new school year, which will begin on the 17th of August.
Next Year
We will be blessed with another year of a growing school. Some classes are full with waiting lists and others have just a few places left. Continue to spread the good news about Christian education at our school. For the classes that will be begin double grades (Preschool and Kindergarten) – watch for more information about teachers, about placement and more. Direct any questions through the school office, please.
Covid Protocol
We believe that most of the protocol will be removed in the very near future – distancing, the wearing of masks (most likely optional), temperature checks, etc. As soon as they change, we will let everyone know. We have so appreciated the patience everyone has shared this school year – during some difficult circumstances. Although we have had many questions directed to us, there has not been even one complaint received about any of it. We are grateful for your trust.
Thank you!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for a most memorable year. For me as school leader it has been the most difficult one I can remember, with the continual decision-making and other dynamics involved in such an unusual year and in keeping students safe. Your smiles, words, and notes of encouragement, and most of all sharing your wonderful children with me will continue to sustain me with great joy for the work the Lord has placed in my midst. Zion is an awesome place. It is all about the children! May your summer be blessed in incredible ways.
Our promise: Our second century of developing
Christian leaders who engage and excel.
