Planning for an Effective Lesson: DEEP DIVE
Let's look at the first 2 requirements of an effective lesson...focus on these two requirements. When you feel that you have mastered them, look at the next 2 requirements.
1. Set Learning Target: What will students learn and or demonstrate?
2. Anticipatory Set: What question "hook" will get students engaged in the learning?
3. Formative Assessment: What will you use to judge what your students already know so that you can target instruction accordingly?
4. Expectations of Students: What skill are you building upon? What are you teaching? What are you preparing students for?
5. Teaching/Instructional Process: How will you differentiate based on your formative assessment?
6. Guided Practice/Monitoring: How will you reteach if students have not mastered the learning target?
7. Assessment: How will you assess whether or not students have mastered the content?
8. Reteaching: How will you reteach if students have not mastered the concepts?
9. Reassessing: How will you reassess the new learning?
