Moxy by Marriott - Update for 2018
This pod-style hotel targets the millennial crowd with motion sensor lighting and screen casting in the minimalist rooms and walls covered in screens displaying Instagram posts about guest stays at the hotel in the common areas. It has a 24-hour café and a rooftop bar (complete with a starlit wall that will dazzle pedestrians) and plenty of space to socialize in general.
The historic portion (with fully restored exterior) of the hotel will house some guest rooms, meeting rooms, and ground-level retail.
Frederick Conference Center Hotel
With its own parking, the Frederick conference center and hotel is expected to not only draw businesses for conferences, but citizens for shopping. The structure will include ground level retail and restaurants, bringing more life to downtown. Between the conference center, hotel, and shops, the new building will create hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars in tax revenue.
The full service 200 room Marriott is scheduled to be open in late 2019.
