Getting Ready for School 2022!

For previous issues of the Community Lion's Roar, please visit our new website to view all previous editions.

Our students' mailings are OUT! Sometimes a piece of mail may take an extra day to arrive. Please wait until Friday before contacting your child's main office. If you know that we do not have your most current address, please let us know asap! It will be essential that we have your most current address, phone number, and email so we can maintain on-going communication with you.

Stop It App

This year we will introduce an app to our students and community. Students and community members may report concerns or known incidents from their phone or from our website. Students may even report incidents anonymously.

More information will be coming as there are many wonderful features for the school, students, and community. Our goal is to provide a way for students to communicate with us even in those instances when they may worry about how others will perceive them.

How Are We Doing? LET US KNOW.

This year the District will post and share a form for parents to communicate with us and let us know how we are doing. A QR code and a link will be posted in our main offices and on our website. The district is continually investigating ways to work with the community to improve our customer service, community support, and communication.

In relationships, there will be times when we agree to disagree. We may have to meet and talk several times to work through challenges. However, the most important part of a relationship is to communicate with one another and remember that the most important person in our relationship are our children.

We want to work with our families, and we believe allowing our families to tell us how we are doing will help us to build that bridge of mutual respect and understanding.

Stay tuned. More information will be forthcoming.

Our new website has gone live. We will continue to add and build upon it; however, you will notice a new platform appearing when you visit More information will be forthcoming. Stay tuned!

Many of you may be aware that the CDC has also updated their protocols. As a result, Lindenwold has done the same. Our Operations Committee recently met and outlined the 2022 - 2023 school year procedure. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's building administration.

Orders placed on or before August 28th should be delivered during the first week of school.

Orders placed after that date will be delivered following the store closing date - September 23rd.

Our 2022 – 2023 school calendar was revised in June 2022 to include a spring break and to include some new End-of-the Year Senior events. The first day of school for all students is Thursday, September 8th.

Students and staff may bring in water bottles. (Our water fountains will have "red" covers on them until we are able to change them out to bottle fillers.)

Water bottles MUST be clear (aka - "see through").

The District has partnered with a new before and after school program this year called - CHAMPIONS. Families in grades PK - 4 may take advantage of this program.

The District has appointed a new District Safety Specialist, Ms. Adrienne McManis, our Director of Special Services. The District spent a significant amount of time reviewing District procedures and considering the recommendations of the State Police, Homeland Security, and our own Police Department.

We will be adjusting building procedures which align to school security best practices. Mrs. McManis has met individually with each building principal to review what would work best in each building.

Some Examples:

i.e. Student, Staff, Substitute, Guest IDs (Everyone will be required to wear their IDs each day.)

i.e. The District will be identifying designated entrance / exits for students and staff.

i.e. We have implemented "red boxes" for ease of item "drop off"

i.e. Stop It Reporting App (accessible to students and the community)

i.e. 2 School Resource Officers and 1 Class III Officer will be present each day in our schools. They are part of our school community and will be involved in school experiences.

i.e. School safety drills will continue to be implemented a minimum of two times a month with follow-up communication with our families.

As a district, we will continue to identify district needs, plan, budget, and implement what is necessary. Building and District Safety Teams will be important in this process. Our community will ALSO be important in this process. Please communicate with us if you become aware of a concern. We cannot address what we do not know.
