Special Recognition - Bruce Epstein
The district gave Bruce Epstein, former Place 3 Trustee, a special recognition for his time on the Jarrell ISD Board of Trustees. Mr. Epstein resigned last month. Due to redistricting, he no longer lives in the area designated for Place 3. Mr. Epstein served on the Jarrell ISD Board of Trustees from March 2017 to February 2024. We thank him for his contributions, outstanding service, and heartfelt dedication to the Jarrell Independent School District community as a Board of Trustee. We also thank his wife, Pam, who supported his devotion to our students and staff!
Place 3 is currently vacant. A subcommittee of current Board members will interview interested individuals and bring one finalist to the Board for approval at a future meeting. Interested candidates must live in Place 3, which includes neighborhoods around Jarrell Elementary School. An address search can be found using this map. Click on the magnifying glass and enter your address to see if you qualify. Interested applicants can fill out the attached application and return it to Diane.Hodde@jarrellisd.org.
Jarrell ISD Transportation Department Nationwide Recognition
Congratulations to our Transportation Department for being one of ten school districts nationwide to be featured in the National Association of Pupil Transportation Magazine. The JISD Transportation Department was selected for their outstanding contributions to our community during the Love the Bus celebration, which included Random Acts of Kindness and special recognition for their bus drivers.
This nationwide recognition speaks volumes about the hard work the department does daily. It's well-earned. Thank you for your service to the Jarrell ISD Community.
Jarrell ISD Citizens of the Month
New this year, the district will recognize a citizen(s) at monthly school board meetings. The citizen(s) demonstrates leadership in our community and fosters a connection with our district and students.
This month, our recipients are the members of our Parent Teacher Organizations (PTO).
Each one of our campuses has a PTO. Comprised of volunteers, PTOs play an integral part in campus culture. They support students and staff by hosting campus events, volunteering, being a substitute, and many more activities that make a difference on the campus and in the classroom. We're incredibly grateful for the time they invest in helping our district.
Joining the PTO is an excellent way to participate in what's happening on your child's campus. Use the link to learn more about the PTO.
