Maddi Leigh Finishes High School Career With State Championship

To say that Maddi Leigh has had a great high school career is an understatement. On Saturday night Maddi capped off a great high school career with a State Championship in the 1600m and became only the second Howell female to post a sub five minute mile in school history. Maddi will finish her high school career with 12 All-State Medals and 1 State Championship. Congratulations to Maddi on a great high school career and good luck to her as she runs Cross Country and Track at NCAA Division I Oakland University.

Congratulations to Dawson Keim and Riley Dachel for qualifying in Doubles for the MSHSAA State Championships in Springfield, Missouri this past weekend. Dawson and Riley fell to Parkway Central and Lindbergh in their quest for a State Championship on Friday. Congratulations to Dawson on a great season!

Kyle Grantham Named GAC South Player Of The Year

Congratulations to Kyle Grantham for being named the GAC South Player of the Year. Kyle had a standout senior season that included breaking the season batting average record with a .523 batting average in over 100 at bats.

55 Howell Student-Participants To Further Activity/Sport At College Level

The Class of 2017 will have 55 student-participants that will further their education and activity or sport at the college level. These 55 student-participants have excelled in the classroom as well where they have an over 3.6 cumulative GPA. Over the course of the past three years Howell has produced 163 student-participants that are furthering their education or sport at the college level. Howell Activities/Clubs/Sports Raise $40,034 And Perform 6,949 Hours Of Service

During the 16-17 school year Howell activities, clubs and sports were actively involved in the community through outreach and fundraising efforts to benefit charities. In all, Howell programs took part in 51 projects to benefit 35 different charities. For the year, $40,034 was raised for charities and 6,949 hours of service were performed. Congratulations to all of our programs for their active involvement in our community.

Wrestling Kicks Off Summer With Youth Camp

The summer is underway and Howell has already been busy with FHHS student-participants and youth participants looking to improve. The Howell Wrestling program kicked off the summer camp season by hosting 63 youth wrestlers at their camp. The young wrestlers spent the week learning more about wrestling and improving their skills.

Class of 2017 Parent Club Makes $1000 Donation To Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

This spring the Senior Class Reps selected a charity to make a donation to on behalf of the Class of 2017. The students chose the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of former classmate Kayla Thornton, who passed away from the disease in middle school. A donation in the amount of $1,000 was given at the Charity Walk event on May 6, 2017. A big thank you to our senior students and parents for their efforts in raising the funds for such a great cause.

Activities Departmant Releases Important Summer Dates

As we quickly approach the beginning of summer the Activities Department wanted to communicate several important dates for our MSHSAA sponsored activities. Below you can find those dates. We hope you and your family have a great summer and look forward to another successful year during 2017-18!

MSHSAA Summer Dead Period - July 1-9

Fall Meet the Coaches - July 19 (6:00pm in Commons)

Fall Sports Dead Period - July 23-30

Fall Meet the Coaches Set For July 19th

The fall season "Meet the Coaches" has been set for July 19th. Eligibility paperwork turn in will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the high school commons with the meeting portion of the evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. All eligibility paperwork must be complete to be turned in. All students participating in a fall MSHSAA sponsored activity must have this completed prior to the first day on July 31st. It is recommended that all paperwork be turned in at the "Meet the Coaches" event on July 13th. To ensure participation on August 1st all fully complete paperwork must be turned in no later than July 27th at noon. A link to all eligibility paperwork can be found below.
