Kindness Month
Kindness month is upon us, and we are on the lookout for kind actions and words from our leaners. We have seen them helping their peers, cleaning up equipment from the playground, and holding doors open adults. Promote the same at home for a kindness challenge - how many kind acts can be done this month?
One of the ways our school community shows kindness throughout the school year is with our inclusive buddy program. This is where an older grade and lower grade pair together to do different teacher-led activities that will engage the different ages but also teach each other. Our RVP classes, which are some of our student with neurodiversity, are always a part of buddies. Ask your child about their buddy, they may even have more than one!
Be kind to your school, and complete the family Youth Truth survey. This survey will be analyzed by myself and school staff to see where our glows are and where we need to grow. We appreciate your time completing this survey so we can be the best school for OUR children.
Lastly, Valentines Day has started popping up in stores, so to prepare you for any purchases, here are our Valentine's Day guidelines:
- It is the teacher's decision if the class does any Valentine exchange. Teachers know their classes best.
- We include everyone - any cards given will be one for each classmate. Period. Nothing special for a singular classmate.
- Non-food items to be exchanged.
- Exchanges are within the classroom, at the teacher's guidance. Anything for a student outside of their class, should be given outside of school. We do not allow things to be exchanged on the playground, or delivered.
BE Safe. BE Responsible. BE Respectful.
BE YOUR BINKLEY BEST!
Warmly,
Harmony Harvell, Principal

NED's Mindset Mission is a character education program that centers around three important messages that have lifelong relevance: Never give up, Encourage others and Do your best. During the assembly, students will learn about the importance of these three life skills while also enjoying storytelling, magic, humor and yo-yo tricks.
