Early Learners Highlights!
May 12, 2023
Dear Early Learners Families,
It's hard to believe there are only a couple of weeks left of school! The amount of growth that has happened from all the students in our program is simply amazing! We still have a few weeks left, and our teachers have packed it with all kinds of fun things!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Marcia

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN EARLY LEARNERS?
This week our Early Learners wrapped up our spring unit by observing our lima bean plants grow, watching our butterflies emerge from their chrysalids, and meeting the new chicks. Our Springtime butterfly release tradition has become a bit of a metaphor for our students’ growth throughout the year - they have grown and changed so much, and now they are nearly ready to “take flight” for the summer!
Our students have been hard at work on projects for Mother’s Day! This week we have loved hearing the many things that make their Mommies so special. Here are a few sweet quotes from our students:
Jack: My Mom makes chocolate chip pancakes with lots of chocolate chips!
Elliot: My mommy is beautiful.
Miles: My Mom always finds my stuffies if I lose them.
Kara: My mommy doesn’t let me stand on the chairs because she wants to keep me safe.
Cameron: My Mom makes the BEST eggy sandwiches.
Vivian: My Mom plays Zingo with me. I got it for my birthday. Sometimes my mom loses and I win, and sometimes I lose and my mom wins!!
Carter: My Mommy gives me breakfast of goldfish.
James: My mom likes having a date with me and going out to dinner at PF Changs.
Aly: My mom came to my school to tell about the dentist!
Grant: Mommy takes care of me by giving medicine when I’m sick.
Theo: My mom is beautiful because she has nice hair!
Speech with Ms. Nathanson
This week in speech group, we looked at a wordless book. While looking at the pictures, the students provided details to make their own story. They also made inferences about what was going to happen next. They had so much fun!
