What joy to see kids!
For those who have students in person, the excitement and enthusiasm for school has been wonderful! Students have been following directions and behaving in a safe, respectful, and responsible manner that tells us they are ready to learn!
For those who have new classmates or teachers in remote, we are excited to be able to connect with you in the safest possible way. A couple of my favorite quotes so far:
"School is the funnest thing you can do!" - Kinder
"This was the best day ever!" - 5th gr
Thank you for sharing your amazing children with us!
Please Complete attestations by 7:15 - earlier if possible!
Do you need to change your pick up plan? Is your student going to be absent?
If you are changing your child's pick up arrangements (bus vs walk vs pickup) please call the office by 1:00pm so we can have them in the right place at the right time.
All absences must be called into the office or emailed to Janet Keehr keehrj@edmonds.wednet.edu.

I-Ready Feedback Surveys - Families, Students, and Teachers
This school year has been a full-year, district-wide pilot of the i-Ready platform. A very important component of the pilot is to gather feedback on i-Ready from our students, families, and teachers.
Family i-Ready Feedback Survey - The Family i-Ready Feedback survey will be open from April 26th through the end of the day May 2nd. Below are links to the various forms of the family survey. Please help distribute to families on April 26th.
Student i-Ready Feedback Survey - The Student i-Ready Feedback survey is open now and will close at the end of the day May 2nd. Please help distribute and advertise the link below to all your teachers so that they can help distribute the link to students. This survey is designed to be completed in 3 to 5 minutes.
Changes in Canvas for Grades 3-6 Families
English:
Families: As we transition from our current classes to our hybrid and remote classes for grades 3-6, your student may experience some small changes in Canvas.
Between now and Friday, April 2nd, your student will continue to access their current Canvas classes as usual.
During Spring Break, April 5-9, students will not need to access Canvas. As we update class lists, students who do access Canvas during this time will notice some changes to the courses on their Dashboard.
As of April 12th, students will only see the Canvas class of the teacher they will have from 4/12 through the end of the school year. If they have a different teacher than before, the students will not have access to the prior class or to any of the assignments they submitted in that class.
If your student does not see their teacher’s class on the Canvas dashboard by April 12th, please follow these directions (or see this video) to find it and add it to their dashboard. The video includes English and Spanish directions.
Are you observing your students in Canvas? Being an observer allows you to view the content of your student’s Canvas courses.
If so, you will see class content for their new classes by April 12th.
If not, you can follow these directions to set up your own Canvas observer account. (Once you set this up once, you will remain an observer for all of your student’s classes in all future years.)
A message regarding SeeSaw
Around March 17-22 your SeeSaw will be affected by changes.
Families: As we transition from our current classes to our hybrid and remote classes, you and your students will notice a few changes in Seesaw.
New (additional) classes for K-2 homeroom and PE/music/library will appear in Seesaw by Thursday, March 18th. Students’ current classes will still be available, and they should continue to access their usual Seesaw classes in the same way they normally do through March 19th.
As of March 20th, students will only see their new classes. They will not have access to any prior classes or to any of the submissions they made in prior classes.
K-2 students and families will need to access the new Seesaw classes starting on March 22nd.
Students who are in hybrid classes may begin to see an A or B in front of their name in Seesaw. Teachers will be adding the A and B so that they can easily see which students are in the A and B groups.
Families see all classes that their student has ever been in, and they are able to download the student’s Journal if they would like to save their student’s submissions.
If your student does not see new classes in Seesaw by 3/22, they will need to clear the cache on their Chromebook. Click here for directions.

Tech Support
Edmonds Tech Orientation
Contact: Sarah Luczyk
The Libraries and Instructional Department and Technology Department are pleased to offer video training and a hands on Canvas course for families new to the Edmonds School District as well as other families that may want an overview of our online instructional tools. The links to the orientation video, Canvas course, and other helpful materials can be found on the ESD Learning Resources website or the Canvas Family Resources website.
The Canvas course was created to help new students navigate access to their first day of school online and will cover topics such as Gmail, Google Drive, Chromebook basics, Canvas/Clever (for Seesaw), Skyward, Edmonds Bookmarks, and Zoom. We are excited to share this with them and others who could benefit from it.
A special thank you to Sarah Schumacher and Kim Zimmerman from Meadowdale Middle, who partnered with us to develop these valuable resources!
Chromebook Updates
Our team recently came across a Chromebook update simulator. Feel free to use this to guide your students through updating their Chromebooks. The page features other Chromebook simulations that may also be useful for you and your students.
Student Tech Support
The Student Technology Support team is offering student support on Zoom, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM. Students can connect with a support team member at https://edmondsschools.zoom.us/my/esdtechsupport using the passcode: 030727. Students will be placed in a waiting room and admitted to a private breakout room once a support tech is available.
Drive Through Materials Pick Up Days
If your student has materials to pick up, teachers will inform you. That way you don't have to make an extra trip.
