Hello Eastridge families!
Attendance Matters
This year, Eastridge Elementary is making a special effort to ensure that all students fully benefit from their education by attending school regularly. Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. Your student can start building this habit in kindergarten so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important. Consistent attendance will help children do well in high school, college, and at work. Attendance is a leading indicator of student success in school and postschool life. What is considered “Good Attendance”?- Less than 5 days missed =97%.
Benefits for Good Attendance:
Improved Social Skills
Connected to the School Community
Improved Grades
More Likely to Graduate High School
WHAT YOU CAN DO
Set a regular bedtime and morning routine and talk to your student about the importance
of attendance
Prepare for school the night before, finishing homework and getting a good night’s
sleep.
Avoid appointments and extended trips when school is in session.
As always, thank you for allowing Eastridge to educate your child.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Johnson

Weekly Counselor News:
I am working with our Healing Hearts grief counselor to offer support to student who have lost loved ones, if you feel your child might benefit from this service, do not hesitate to reach out. I am also continuing to work with students and families on making sure they are getting as much school as possible! Students often lose much instruction when they are not here which can make them feel behind and can have negative impacts on student learning and self-esteem.
Families, it is a three day weekend! Take some time and get outdoors and do something fun together! Discuss how quality time is important and how you can also enjoy quality time with friends and staff at school! Talk with your student about the importance of making friends and getting involved with fun activities at school!
