100% Remote Option- Parent Survey
Hello SME families, this is Mrs. Lewis, your principal! I hope you were able to spend time with your family yesterday, even if only through zoom, to celebrate the 4th of July! I am calling today with an update about the parent survey that was sent to you last week. I wanted to provide a little bit of clarity for those of you who are wanting more information. The survey is intended to determine the level of interest and need in a 100% remote learning option. This would be different from the emergency remote model we were using this last spring. Before figuring out the details as to which teachers or programs will be used for this model, we first need to know the level of interest. This is not saying that if you say you are interested in the possibility of this model now, that you are locked in by filling out this survey, come August. Also, depending on how many families across PUSD are interested in this model, we will determine whether PUSD staff or a separate entity are needed to teach such a model. Again, the purpose of this survey is to determine the level of need, so that the next level of planning can begin.
Once the 100% remote option details are determined, you will receive information as to all of the details, so you can determine if that is officially the route you would like to sign up for, once we return in August. These details will also include how long the terms are for the 100% remote option, as well as how to opt out. As you know, all schools, whether they are private, charter, or public are required to follow the CDC guidelines and we will only return face-to-face, even if in a hybrid model, if that is determined to be the safest option in August. This can be very stressful, especially if you are a planner like me, but please TRUST that many scenarios are being considered and your child’s health and safety is our number one concern. Here is the link again, pusd.us/onlineschool, to the survey and I hope you will consider filling it out before this Thursday, July 9th, if you have not already done so. Thank you again!
Please continue to stay safe and healthy!
Bye, Bye!
