Mrs. Lomazov's 3rd Grade Happenings

October 12 - 16, 2015

Reading...

In reading we continue working on building strong reading habits and strong partnerships. This week we focused on how to make our jots more meaningful and how to talk to our reading partners. We will finish our unit on strong reading habits Friday, October 23.

Writing...

Our young authors continue to write personal narratives. We focused on a special person and special place this week to write about. We also discussed the difference between a reporting voice and a storyteller voice. Please ask your young author to tell you the difference between a reporting voice and a storytelling voice..

Math…

Our young mathematicians continued working on adding on an open number line. This week we also used the open number line for subtraction. We will continue working on different strategies for adding and subtracting three digit numbers.

Social Studies...

We continue our study of Michigan geography.
