SHS is excited to announce that we will be hosting a Drug-Free Pep Rally on Tuesday 5/23 (last hour of the day) in partnership with the Columbia County Public Health Department and the Opioid Response Network. The purpose of the Drug-Free Pep Rally is to bring community, school, and student leaders to help our students to make healthy choices about substance use. As summer approaches, we want to make sure that our students have the information they need about opioids (including fentanyl), vaping, and marijuana to help protect them from substance use and overdose. We will also share local resources to help students and families who are concerned about substance use.
SHS has an “opt-out” policy whereby the parent/guardian must sign a permission form to withdraw their student from participating in this event. If you do not wish your student to participate in the event, please sign the form HERE and return it to the school. Your student will receive a different activity during the event. If you do not sign the form, your student will participate in the event.
Any current sophomores or juniors interested in signing up to be on the Link Crew (freshmen welcome and year-long connection activities) for next school year, please contact Mr. Hedger (firstname.lastname@example.org). The application can be found HERE

Junior Parents: We are preparing to hand off to the Class of 2024. To get involved, please attend one of our parent meetings.
What we do:
Event planning, resourcing, and fundraising for the Senior Luncheon, Baccalaureate, and Graduation party.
Senior Luncheon, Fri Jun 2: After the seniors do their parade-style walk through the elementary schools, they come back to the high school to refuel with some lunch and then start rehearsal for the graduation ceremony. Lunch is provided by the Safe & Sober parent organization.
Baccalaureate, Fri Jun 2 @ 7 pm in the auditorium: This is an optional event based on the ceremony of blessing that has often preceded graduations. Ours is a non-denominational and inspirational celebration and will include a guest speaker, the senior slideshow, and more. The slideshow is put together by the Safe & Sober parent organization along with some light refreshments.
Graduation party, Sat Jun 3: This party is meant to be a safe place for graduating seniors to celebrate together. They will be bussed to a secret (fun!) location in the evening after the graduation ceremony. They will be bussed back in the morning. The evening is filled with food, games, prizes, activities, chilling, and loads of fun!
