Dr. Edmondson shares presentation with Kindergarten students

Dr. Edmondson visited our Kindergarten students last week to share information about the importance of dental health. This presentation not only aligns with our Kindergarten Health curriculum, but Mr. Edmondson is also an active member of our LoES PTA. Thank you for contributing to our school community!

News & Notes

  • LoES Spirit Week in June - as we close out the school year, we are encouraging both students and staff to participate in our final Spirit Week of the 2017-2018 school year. Below are the themes for each day during the week of June 4th (see flyer above):

  • June 4th - LoES Gear

  • June 5th - Beach Gear

  • June 6th - Workout Gear

  • June 7th - Orioles Gear

  • June 8th - Vacation Gear (Where are you going this summer?)

  • School Year Extended to June 19th - The Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) will extend the 2017-2018 school year by two days to make up for inclement weather closings. The last day of school for students will now be Tuesday, June 19, 2018. Read more here.

  • Graduation Ceremonies - HCPSS will continue the tradition of streaming all high school commencement ceremonies live on the HCPSS website at www.hcpss.org. On-demand viewing also will be available following each ceremony. You can also order graduation DVDs online now, and only through June 15. This is a change from previous years when purchasing was available for several months after graduations. All graduation-related information, including DVD details and parking maps for each ceremony, can be found on the HCPSS site at http://www.hcpss.org/commencements/

  • Making Summer Vacation Plans? - All 4th grade students can get free access to National Parks throughout the US for a year. Includes everyone in the vehicle. Get more information here.

  • Certifikid (www.certifikid.com) offers many deals on family and kid-only entertainment. Use promo code "LOES" at checkout for any purchases $30 and over to receive $5 off. The best part is Longfellow ES PTA will also receive $5 for every purchase made!

  • Friendly reminder - If you won a raffle lunch bunch at the Spring Fair, please contact the teachers who offered them. The school year is coming to a close and we want to make sure everyone gets their lunch bunch before the year ends.
