Principal's Message

BRHS Families,

I hope this finds everyone well and safe.

In February we have begun our course registration process for grades 9-11. A significant amount of time and effort to help students select courses that will guide our master schedule and help each student be challenged and grow during the 2021-2022 school year. Our curriculum night and rising 9 orientation is February 22. Information can be found here. (Links will be posted for the live stream on the BRHS web site)

Students who selected Hybrid for S2 will return March 3. There is information available regarding our transition to Hybrid. From student parking to our open house on March 2. This information is also applicable to any potential after school events that student organizations may be planning as the school year progresses.

A reminder for seniors, you can find capstone information (and lots of other senior relevant information) here. If you have not ordered your Cap and Gown, please do so before March to ensure delivery for whatever our graduation format is. Also, any Capstone/Project applications should be submitted by March 12. Check back frequently as information and guidance continues to shift.

I want to congratulate all our students and their continued success in a variety of endeavors. Our Academic Competition team and Girls Swim team won the Dulles District (Girls Swim won Region too!). Other(s) include:

-Abby Bressette – Gold Key Art Award.
-Simon Fossett and Alex Birchmeier – Region Wrestling Champions.
-Yvonne Lee, Sydney Sokol, Arnav Thornhill and Mateen Purdue All Dulles District Tournament team(s).
-Esha Venkat (and sister alumna Shreya) for their continued recognition with NEST4US.
-Nick Mitchell and Adam Rodriguez being selected National Merit Finalists.

There are many other awesome celebrations as our students continue to commit to colleges and universities and receive other awards and recognitions in the community.

Please consider joining BRHS for a night of "Literary Jazz" as we celebrate Black History Month with guest Reuben Jackson. This seventh annual African American Read-In is February 24 at 6:30. Links will be posted on the BRHS web site.

Hope to see everyone soon,

Mr. Spage
