3rd Grade Spring Musical and Project Vinata

Our 3rd grade students did a fantastic job on Tuesday showing off their singing skills in their Spring Musical. Students gave two at 9:30 for the campus and one at 7:00 for parents. Our music teacher, Ms. Hahn, did a great job preparing students for their performance.

Our Project Vinata student group followed the morning performance with a skit, written by the student group, on the effects of name calling. This presentation kicks off our last Project Vinata activity for the year, which is a "No Name-Calling" month. Students will learn more about this activity in Guidance with Mrs. Sexton.

Character Trait of The Month...

March's Character Trait of The Month is Trustworthiness. Here are few ways we can show Trustworthiness...

  • Be honest;
  • Don't deceive others, cheat, or steal;
  • Be reliable - do what you say you'll do;
  • Have the courage to do the right thing;
  • Build a good reputation;
  • Be loyal - stand by family, friends, and country.

Students will learn more about this month's character trait in weekly Guidance lessons.

Counselor's Corner

Hello LVES Families!

This week our Project Vinátta group announced to students that our current campus-wide activity is a “No Name-Calling Month.” In our guidance classes students are learning about how hurtful name-calling can be, and instead we should be learning more about others and their positive traits. All students are creating a “What’s in a Name” poster with their names and positive words that describe them. We hope this will encourage students to learn more about each other, see how we are alike, and respect how we are different.

We are also learning about the character trait of Trustworthiness this month. At home, it is important to help your child understand who it is safe to trust in their family and community. Children should always be able to trust their parents or guardians. We should listen to them when they need to talk, and show them they can trust us.

Hope you all have a wonderful Spring Break!

“If you don’t listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won’t tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff.” ~C.M. Wallace

~C.M. Wallace
