Bobcat Bulletin
Week of March 22nd
Principal Petrick Message
We are so excited to get to see some of our K - 2 Bobcats return to school in person on Monday March 29th! For students returning in person, they will want to make sure their Chromebook is fully charged the night before. For students who don't have a Chromebook, one will be provided to them the first day back. Although not encouraged, because they may not be able to be supported on our network, students may bring a personal laptop. If a personal laptop doesn't work we will make sure the student is provided a Chromebook.
Students in grades 3-6 will remain in CDL the week of March 29th. However, our 3-6 grade teachers will need their Transition Days on March 31, April 1 and 2 in order to prepare their classrooms and complete trainings for the start of 3-6 grade Hybrid on April 5th. Expect to get an email from your 3-6 teacher regarding their Hybrid schedule on April 2nd.
Finally, another impact that the switch to Hybrid will cause will be a change to many small groups. Although CDL is imperfect for students and teachers (and many parents too!) it has allowed us to provide more small group time than ever before. This was possible because our Instructional Assistants had no supervision duty at school. With Hybrid bringing students back to school, we will have less time for small groups because we will have to allocate more I.A. time to supervise students as well as meeting the safety guideline demands of cohorting. Small groups won't go away entirely, but they will become less frequent.
Thanks for reading this long message! Lots of important information below - including the Bobcat Goes To School Video!
Happy Spring Break!
