Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) with Case Western Reserve University
BMHS has been selected to participate in a Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) sponsored by the Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods at Case Western Reserve University. The survey, described in the below attachment, will ask about the health behaviors of students, in particular with questions about nutrition, physical activity, injuries, tobacco, alcohol, sexual activity, and other health risk behaviors. If you agree to allow your child to participate in the survey, and your child agrees to participate as well, he/she will be asked to complete a one-time survey at school during the regular school day and need to take no action. The survey is totally voluntary. If you do not want your child to participate in the survey, please contact Ms. Lori Bobincheck at (216) 898-8300, ext. 6247, within the next seven (7) days.
Winter Sports Season Wrap-Up
The BMHS Winter Sports Season is quickly drawing to a close. Thank you to everyone who supported our BMHS athletes as they did their best to represent our school.
Boys Basketball: The Titans basketball team is having a solid season in 2019-20, reaching double digit wins yet again and breaking several school records along the way, including individual points in a game (Finkovich – 38), Three-pointers in a game (Cupach – 7), and steals in a season (Zarzycki-Hall – 54).
Girls Basketball: The girls basketball team is showing growth under the direction of new Head Coach, Brittney McNamara. The Titans have earned the eighth seed in the Elyria District for the OHSAA Tournament and will host Midview in the opening round.
Gymnastics: With a young squad for 2019-20, the Titans are looking to perfect their routines in time for the OHSAA Tournament.
Swimming & Diving: Several Titans continued to improve in the water throughout the 2019-20 season. Caden Dees finished third overall in the SWC Diving Championship for the boys, while Abby Calaway reached the podium four times at the SWC Swimming Championship for the girls, including her school record breaking performance in the 100 backstroke which earned her a 2nd place finish.
Winter Cheerleading: With over 30 cheerleaders on the winter roster, Berea-Midpark winter athletic events are never short of spirit. The three teams work tirelessly on their routines and cheers to ensure everyone is cheering for the Orange and Blue.
Bowling: The Titans continue to dominate the lanes in competition. The boys' bowling team won the North Shore Bowling Conference for the fourth consecutive year in a row while the girls' team finished fourth after another strong season.
Indoor Track: Berea-Midpark has utilized the indoor track season as a way to gear up for the OHSAA Spring Outdoor Track and Field season. They currently compete in the Spire Institute league and are excited for the spring season.
Wrestling: The Titans wrestling team is currently 9-0 in the Southwestern Conference and have their eyes set on repeating as SWC Champions and sending several wrestlers to the OHSAA State Tournament.

Celebrating Success at BMHS
Titans Win "Dual in the School"
The Titans Wrestling Team was victorious in 11 of 14 bouts versus Cuyahoga Heights and garnered a 23-7 bonus point advantage to stifle the Redskins, 56-16, in a jam packed Bob Purdy Gymnasium during the third annual Dual in the School. Berea-Midpark finishes the regular season (13-2, 9-0 SWC). Titan bonus tallies came courtesy of pins by Austin Neel, Pino Dipierro, Shane Heil, Spencer Reardon, Alex DiVincenzo and Zach Porch, and Caden Wendling’s dominating tech fall. Additional BMHS victors included Ian Taylor, Japhet Gonzalez-Ramos, Jimmy Paletta and Danny Yu each posting impactful decisions. The event is designed to not only highlight our wrestling team, but to celebrate all of our winter programs. Thank you to our amazing Titans staff and fans for making this a memorable event!
