Garcia Counselor Newsletter

February 2017

As the school counselor my goal is to help every student be the best he can be. This is accomplished through classroom guidance lessons, as well as individual and small-group counseling. I also work closely with families, teachers, administrators, and community agencies. I am thrilled for this amazing opportunity and look forward to working with each of you! Please let me know how I can best serve you.

Guidance Theme of the Month

Dear Parents,

This month guidance lessons will be on love. Students will learn that love is that special feeling for people, that fills your heart. When you enjoy treating people with care and kindness because you value them, you are showing your love for them. Students will learn that we show love when:

  • you say "I love you".
  • you say you are sorry
  • you hug someone
  • you forgive others
  • you show your gratitude
  • you share

At home you can help by reviewing the virtue of the month and encouraging your child to show love for self and others.
