Professional Learning Community
Best Practice #4
Activating Learners: By now we all know what an active role learners play in each of the foundational formative practices. When activated by teachers and the classroom culture of learning to serve as support for themselves and their peers, learners have new ways of looking at and processing the learning. Being a resource to their peers for instruction and feedback deepens student engagement with learning. - See more at: https://www.nwea.org/blog/2017/four-formative-instructional-practices-drive-student-growth/#sthash.JZrphF1c.dpuf

Class Lists for 2017-2018
Please complete tentative class lists for the upcoming school year by Monday, May 22nd. Please send class lists to me via e-mail. We will meet in the media center on Tuesday, May 23 to review and discuss the lists with special area teachers and administrators. This deadline is an extension. Please make sure that class lists are complete by this deadline.
Remember if students are moving 3 or 4 levels, it doesn't necessarily mean they've grown that much, it may mean they have been instructed on an inappropriate level.
Summer Professional Development
Please peruse the summer PD opportunities that are in Canvas. There are great opportunities that will support individual and team growth. A hard copy of summer professional learning opportunities is in the work room bulletin board. I will be encouraging some of you to attend certain sessions. Suggestions may support individual, grade level team or school growth. Thank you in advance for your willingness to support continuous growth!
Rayne McCullough will be recognized on Thursday, May 11th at the Rock Hill Foundation's Student Celebration! Thanks Kelli, for recommending Rayne for this award. A special thank you to everyone who has helped make Rayne's year in first grade awesome!
Field Day
