Message from Ms. Rivera
Spring is right around the corner, and just like we will have lots of growth outside, our kids our growing their brains each day! Growth has been our theme this year, and we are so proud of the growth and gains we are seeing academically and socially in our kids. I also want to share some of our accolades with you.
Smith Elementary is the most decorated campus in Magnolia I.S.D. We have earned the most distinctions from the Texas Education Agency than any other school. Out of over 9,000 public schools, Smith has been one of only about 400 schools to earn all possible distinctions from TEA in a single year. Our kids and teachers work hard, we have urgency, and we want you to be able to say that your children go to an exemplary school. The last ingredient to our success is student attendance. We need your help in making sure our kids attend school as much as possible. Attendance definitely matters!
Thank you for your continued support! Feel free to contact me for any questions or feedback at drivera@magnoliaisd.org. I hope you and your family have a safe and happy spring break!
March Teacher of the Month
Mrs. Ramirez is completely dedicated to the success of her students. She is kind, patient, and intentional in everything she does. In addition, she is also one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. I am so happy to have Mrs. Ramirez on our team, growing our kids to achieve their maximum potential!
March Paraprofessional of the Month
Ms. Velez is an instructional aide, and she helps students in small group to advance their reading skills. She also works in the classroom to help students and teachers. In addition to her daytime work, she also volunteers for a number of after-school activities, and you can often see her supporting our families during Raising Readers. We are so happy to have Ms. Velez on our team!
