Weekly Blog February 24th-28th, 2020
Our journey through learning labs this week.
As the month of February is coming to an end students reflect on the friendships that they have made at school. We realize how grateful we are for each other as we continue to build play skills, social problem solving and communication skills.
The last few weeks practicing the Love Yoga Flow have not only helped us gain motor control and strength but also confidence as we work to master table pose. A straight flat back was accomplished this week as some of us were able to set a teacup on our tabletop! We were very excited for each other and our growth proving the adage “practice makes perfect”. Outdoor yoga allowed us to have a meditation journey as we were mindful of the sounds, smells, sights and touches around us. We watched the clouds and released our feelings as we watched their movement in the sky!
As we are expanding our understanding of number sense and concepts we continue to work on counting using one to one correspondence, sorting, and making set comparisons.
When engaged in sensory and fine motor activities we are focusing on using tools effectively and proper grasp on tools like scissors, playdough cutters, and especially writing tools.

WHAT IS POP ART?
Pop art is all about making art inspired by things from popular culture.
WHAT WAS HIS STYLE? He had a very particular personal style. He had a shock of white hair and was usually seen wearing a lot of black, leather jackets and glasses or sunglasses. He dressed up and experimented a lot with his personal style. He made a lot of self-portraits.
WHAT TYPE OF ART DID HE MAKE?
Warhol liked to use bright colors and silk screening techniques. He liked using screen printing to mass-produce artworks based on photographs of celebrities, like this image of Marilyn Monroe. She was a movie star who was very famous in the 1950s. Wait until you see what we create! Inspiration from Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe masterpiece.

Lifelong Learners!
The first five years matter. A child's brain is more receptive to learning during this time period than any other. Early childhood education is the foundation for lifelong learning—and we are proud to support early educators in giving each child the best start.

Enrollment for 2020-2121 School Year
Based on many inquiries to the school about new enrollment and new families already securing their space in the program for the 2020-2021 school year we will be sending out re-enrollment for our existing students and siblings in March. Typically we do this in April but because of the volume of interest for next year, we will need to evaluate space in the program for new incoming students. Be on the watch for information coming out to all families in March 2020. This will include our Kindergarten and First Grade program.
Re-enrollment forms and Registration Fees submitted by the deadline will guarantee the student's space for the upcoming school year. If forms and registration fee is not submitted by the deadline we will assume you are forfeiting your space.
