THE RED PLANET GETS COZY

On the evening of May 30th, Mars made its closest approach to the Earth in the past 11 years putting it a mere 47 million miles away! It has been closer, but this is still pretty good for getting out the telescope and inspecting our planetary neighbor. Watch out for the Mars Hoax - don't let your students think it will be as big as the moon in the sky!

Stay tuned - in July 2018 we will be even closer and it will look even brighter!
