If you need to be excused from a speaker, you may fill out the Speaker Absence Form. This form must be filled out at least two business days prior to the speaker (with the exception of sudden illness or emergency) or your request may be marked as unexcused.
Please note that the only reasons your absence would be marked as excused are:
1) Class/Labs/Rehearsals
2) Varsity Games
3) Religious Holiday Observances
4) Sudden Illness/Family Emergencies

Summer Fellowship Opportunity
The Mount Vernon Leadership Fellows program is a competitive five-and-a-half week summer fellowship for a select group of rising college Juniors (current Sophomores). Applications are due February 5th - for more information, check out the flyer or email MVFellowsProgram@mountvernon.org

Escape Room Passport
Escape Room Virginia Beach is an interactive team-building and leadership development experience. The team will be tasked with working together to observe your surroundings, search for clues, and solve complex puzzles to find a special item that will ‘unlock’ the room allowing the team to escape the room in which you are confined.
This event counts as a Passport Destination and will take place on February 5th from approximately 3-7pm. Transportation is provided but there is a $25 entrance fee for the activity. Space is limited to 10 people, so if you and your friends want to participate email dawson.metcalf@cnu.edu or abby.grimes@cnu.edu by January 27th at 5pm.

Would you like to have a better understanding of the Virginia General Assembly and how the state legislature impacts your daily life? Have you ever wondered how your state legislature functions and how it compares to the U.S. Congress?
If your answer is yes then the new Christopher Newport University Student Legislative Navigator is for you. On Monday, January 18th at 5:00 pm in DSU Jefferson, OR Thursday, January 21st at 12:15 pm in DSU Harrison.
