orance shirt day sept 28...from the BCTF
On Friday Sept. 28th we encourage all staff and students to wear orange shirts in honor of Orange Shirt Day. "September 30th has been declared Orange Shirt Day annually, in recognition of the harm the residential school system did to children's sense of self-esteem and well being, and as an affirmation of our commitment to ensure that everyone around us matters."

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Two-Spirit (LGBTQ2S+) Issues....BCTF
The BCTF has created the LGBTQ2S+ Action Group to help support you in your work as teachers or social justice activists. One of our immediate goals is to improve access to resources on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and Two-Spirit (LGBTQ2S+) issues for teachers. Another goal is to provide support for rural and isolated locals. We have developed a comprehensive action plan with actions and timelines over a multi-year period.
You'll find information and resources to help you in your classroom on the following pages.
