Culture
Many of the citizens in the southern colonies were at work and farming almost all day.They planted tobacco, rice, and many other crops. They were mostly happy people and got along well.
There was a lot of diversity in the Middle colonies.They had jobs in businesses like lumbering, mining, and small-scale manufacturing.
The New England colonies had many subsistence farmers and different industries such as shipbuilding and fishing in America.
- Over all the colonies relied on each other and succeeded in America.
Government
The colonies were put in three groups. New England colonies, Middle colonies, and the Southern colonies. These colonies also were founded in different ways there were royal colonies, proprietary colony, and royal colonies. Royal colonies were Georgia, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, North and South Carolina. Royal colonies were owned by England, and were governed by them to. The proprietary colonies are Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. These colonies were ruled by proprietors. Proprietors are people who were gifted land by England in the colonies. The third kind of colony is the charter colonies. Charter colonies were colonies were ruled by the settlers. These colonies chose their leader and the who was part of the legislature.
Religion
Some colonist were Pilgrims some were Quakers, but many were not some just people who wanted to come to the new land.
The reason the colonist left was due to religious persecution.
Economics
Many colonies at first relied on farming and mining for money.
The Navigation Acts made the colonies export and import goods only to Great Britain.
- Also the triangular trade helped the colonies get slaves that helped on the farms.
