Teacher Spotlight
Teacher of the Week: Ms. Jennings
After learning about the collaboration feature in Spiral from the Coaching Corner, Ms. Jennings decided to try it out. To begin the lesson, she discussed the importance of being helpful, specific, and respectful while critiquing. She then had her students give evidence for Continental Drift. Then she shuffled their answers and had them read a peer's evidence and critique their response in writing.
Teacher of the Week: Ms. McCaulley
Ms. McCaulley implemented a mystery lesson with her students about the United States pre-Civil War. Students were presented with pretend countries and statistical data about each and were asked to conduct observations. It was later revealed that each "country" was the North and the South prior to the Civil War. Because the information was hidden at first, students conducted their observations more careful than they might have otherwise.
Congrats to the October 2017 Teacher of the Month: Ms. Howell
Your votes are in! Ms. Howell has been selected as our October 2017 Teacher of the Month for her implementation of small group utilizing carefully tested technology.
