Asa C. Adams School Newsletter

October 2022

Dear Asa Families,

October is upon us and we have made our way through the first month of the trimester. Wow, has it flown by! Students have been adjusting back to the routines of the school year and we hope that you have been able to make some strong connections with your child's teachers. We have been excited to welcome families back into our building and were blown away by the outstanding attendance at our Open House on September 22nd. It truly was wonderful to see so many families and have students giving tours of the building to their family members that may not have seen the inside of the building before.

We are also enjoying all the great teaching and learning that is already taking place here at Asa. For example, Mr. Soderberg's class has been making apple cider and Mrs. Shaw's class has been doing oxidation science labs. The school community was also able to attend the Step Afrika performance on Friday, September 30th for students in grades kindergarten through grade five. The students had a wonderful time and were respectful, responsible audience members. Kudos to Jess Moore, our music teacher for planning this great field trip.

Additionally, we recognize that we are all anxious to once again celebrate a more normal school year with welcoming parent volunteers into school, and thinking of some new ways to return to some of our favorite traditions. If you have ideas or thoughts on events or programming that could benefit our students, we would love to hear from you. Please feel free to reach out to Ms. Wyman, Ms. West or the PTO.

Finally, we would like to wholeheartedly thank you for a great start to the school year and for the warm welcome Ms. West and myself have received as we have joined the Asa team.

So, in closing please know we are here if you need us. Have a great October!

Sincerely,

Ms. Wyman and Ms. West
