On Friday, March 20, St. Louis won three honors at the District Play/Speech Rally at McNeese:

Mrs. Ashley Lavine selected as a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert 2015!

Mrs. Ashley Lavine, Business/Technology Teacher, recognized by Microsoft as a global leader in using technology was selected by Microsoft as a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert for 2015 for her excellence in using technology to help students learn and achieve more – and ultimately succeed in a mobile-first, cloud-first world.


Each year, Microsoft selects MIE Experts to be part of an exclusive global community that is paving the way for their peers to share ideas, try new approaches and learn from each other. This year, Microsoft selected more than 800 thought leaders in innovative learning who possess technology and desire to amplify their reach and voice.


MIE Experts work closely with Microsoft to lead innovation in education, build educator capacity for using technology to improve student learning and advocate and share their experiences in how technology improves teaching and learning. In addition, they mentor other educators and help train them in education technologies and Microsoft products and tools. Congratulations, Mrs. Lavine!

    Two Saint Louis Faculty members have successfully completed the requirements for graduation and will be receiving their Master’s of Arts in Teaching in Secondary Education from McNeese State University on May 16, 2015. Mrs. Morgan Miller holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science from McNeese State University and is currently teaching Biology 1, Anatomy & Physiology, and Biology 2. Ms. Christian Abshire holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Molecular Biology from Northwestern State University and is currently teaching Biology 1 and Chemistry.

    Good News Summary for SLCHS by Mr. Ted Nixon

    Congratulations to the following student groups:


    Athletics...As the winter sports finished and the spring sports are in full swing, there is excitement. Congratulations to Thomas O'Dowd for signing a scholarship in football to the University of Memphis. Golf is off to a good start with Logan Kuehn, Andrew Worley, Jacobo Santacoloma, and Zach Eisner leading the way in several golf tournaments...Tennis is off to a GREAT start having victories over several top area teams...Baseball and Softball are in the middle of district with their next games in Jennings on Tuesday, March 30th...Boys and Girls track are in the outdoor season as they hosted the St. Louis/Taussig Relays on Friday, March 27th at the Barbe High School track.
