READING
In reading class, we will be reading the humorous short story “The Night the Bed Fell.” Along with the story, we will be practicing new vocabulary words and recognizing different perspectives of all the characters.
LANGUAGE ARTS
Going along with perspectives from reading class, in language arts class we will be writing fun traveling stories. One person will start writing from a prompt and then pass it to a group member to continue the story. Each group member will add their own ideas and details to give the story different perspectives.
MATH
All math students will be recapping the first semester of the school year. They will participate in some team building activities as they recall the material that we have learned to this point. Most of this will be done as a Google Form Break-Out.
Students will also be getting their new books and will be completing a class survey on the happenings of the first semester while also setting math goals for the second half of the year.
SOCIAL STUDIES
In social studies we will be continuing to learn about the Declaration of Independence. We will begin an outline for our Chapter 5 & 6 essential question essay, which we will be writing after break. We will also complete a Declaration of Independence “scavenger hunt” in class.
SCIENCE
Mitochondria and Chloroplasts will be our focus next week. We will be exploring their structure and function in a cell with discussion, video analysis, and readings. Students will also get their Cell Membrane Assessments back the beginning of the week.
