Second Quarter
We started the second quarter of our school year last week. Wow, where does the time go? As we continue through the school year, I would like to take this time to remind our parent community that you can monitor your student’s academic progress on the Home Access Center. If you have any questions about school work, please contact your child's teachers. If you have any questions on how to access HAC, please call the main office at 331-228-3100.
Activities Abound At Thompson
As is every week in a middle school, this one has been exceptionally busy. Today many of our students and staff dressed “in costume” in recognition of Halloween. Thompson certainly has some creative students and staff. What is especially important about today is that our school community was able to have fun with Halloween, while also keeping the focus on learning.
In addition to the energy of this Halloween week, fall sports recently finished and our winter sports are now practicing for their seasons. Teams continue to engage students through a myriad of learning activities in the classroom and our school clubs are in high gear.
One great thing about middle school is the fact that there are so many different ways for students to get involved and shine! Please encourage your middle schooler to participate in school activities away from the classroom to truly take advantage of all that middle school has to offer! Click here to see our long list of clubs/activities.
Have a great weekend!

PTO Meeting
Please join us for a Thompson PTO meeting next Wednesday, November 3rd from 9:00 - 10:00 am. Meetings are virtual and all are welcome! If you would like to attend, please email Shannon Puri or Kim Walters for a link to the virtual meeting.
Honoring Our Veterans
One of our many planned activities for Veterans Days includes acknowledging family members, past and present, who have served our country. We are asking that any family that includes a veteran fill out a Veterans Day Certificate and return it to the Thompson main office. These will be placed in a centralized location to proudly display and honor those who served.
HOPE Club Spiritwear
Thompson's HOPE Club (Helping Others Protect Each other) wants to invite students to order HOPE spiritwear that can be worn throughout the year. In February, Thompson will be hosting HOPE Week which is a time that we come together as a school to spread kindness and understand the importance of HOPE. The deadline to order is October 31st. Once the spiritwear is ready, HOPE club members will distribute it to students. Please contact Mrs. Jolaoso or Ms. Walker if you have any questions about the spiritwear or if you would like more information about the club.
Order your PTO Spirit Wear by November 14! Orders will be delivered to Thompson Middle School by December 10th.

Volunteers Needed To Share Career and Education/Training Experiences

Parent Volunteer Communication from the District
In District 303 we believe that families are the strongest partners we have to support our students’ education. We are excited to welcome volunteers back into District 303 buildings to assist with a variety of classroom and school activities.
As a public school district, we are required to comply with the Governor’s Executive Order relative to COVID-19 mitigation steps in all district buildings. These steps will keep our students, staff members, and volunteers safe while they are in our schools. Given that, all volunteers must:
Provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test received within 72 hours of arriving to volunteer
Bring documentation to the front office upon arrival
Wear a properly fitting mask at all times while in the building
Complete the Volunteer Information Form prior to the first time you volunteer
Our students and staff members appreciate your willingness to volunteer your time!
